The permanent Victron 3000-watt inverter and related components have been installed. The upgraded components will increase reliability and provide three times more power capability than the old inverter, which provides overhead for additional communications equipment, network devices for remote monitoring, site security cameras, and lights.
The solar power system is fully installed and the GMRS repeater is operating 100% off-grid. The solar system will be scaled up to offer additional capacity in the near future.
The solar power system is anticipated to be installed between December 3-5, 2025.
The GMRS repeater is now online. The repeater will operate in a test mode until the solar power system is installed and final adjustments are made. Scheduled downtime will occur periodically to facilitate the installation of the solar power system, so if you attempt communication using the repeater and its not working, no worries. We will attempt minimal downtime and post the status on the website.

We were put in contact with Vertical Technology Solutions, LLC, based in Hagerstown, Maryland, who promptly responded to our request for assistance to fix a failed connector on the 7/8" hard line. A two-person crew arrived the following day to replace the connector and load test the line to ensure its performance. Vertical Technology Solutions donated their time, material, and expertise to benefit the community.
There is now an antenna in the sky!
9/8/25 - The tower is fully erected with the first set of guy wires installed. This week, the top set of guy wires will be installed which will allow installing the antenna and feed line. It's a slower than anticipated work in progress, but progress is still progress!
More tower work completed. Three more sections and guy wires are all that is left. Then work will start on the antenna and 7/8" hard line, and grounding.
The first tower section was set, and 4400 lbs of concrete was poured for the foundation. The concrete will cure for 1.5-2 weeks before the remaining tower sections, 7/8 inch feed line, and antenna are installed.
A special thank you to Tyler Noll for his help pouring the concrete.
