💪 2025 Accomplishments
BSCRA was formed from the ground up in April, 2025. In the nine months that followed, we fast tracked building a solid foundation for organizational growth, operations, and community safety to continue in 2026.
Key Accomplishments For 2025
Formed as a non-profit corporation and obtained Commonwealth of PA charitable status.
Completed ground work for the first repeater site that led to a brand new Rohn tower being installed with 7/8" feedline and antenna system feeding a Motorola XPR 8400 UHF repeater.
Installed a 800W solar power system to provide 100% off-grid power to the current GMRS repeater and to provide power for future repeaters.
Created an online presence for BSCRA with a modern website and social media.
$10,445 of private funding was invested into the formation and operations of BSCRA. This investment shows the commitment to community we are taking.
🚀 2026 Roadmap
The roadmap for 2026 has exciting things included for the community and BSCRA members.
Goals For 2026
Add an additional 800W solar array for a total of 1.6kw of available power (in progress).
Add a second repeater site at a high elevation tower for wide-area signal coverage.
Add battery capacity to the solar power system to facilitate prolonged operation during long periods of cloudy skies.
Purchase a 2m amateur radio repeater.
Obtain our amateur radio club callsign.
Develop a community outreach program that teaches basic radio operations using GMRS, basic radio theory, the importance of EMCOMM and emergency preparedness. Program will be offered in-person and online.
Obtain 501c(3) status to allow filing for grants to fund enhancements and additional radio services.

The 2026 membership drive is handled by Zeffy, an online platform that specializes in membership drives and fundraising for nonprofit organizations. All online payments are handled by their payment processor, Stripe. No online payment information is handled by Blackskye Community Radio, Inc.
